Tolland County

Tolland County may be best known for it's UConn campus in Storrs, but there is much more to this rural part of the state then woods and fields. It is not uncommon to drive through the back roads and suddenly arrive in "cow-country." Though many of the dairies do not sell directly to consumers, there are thriving meat producers that are happy to share some of their grass-fed beef or free range chicken with a new customer. Continue further along that same road and you may stumble across a pick your own blueberry farm, only open for two months of the year. There's no website or email address to find this and many other gems, but when you pull in the drive, your welcomed.
